2020: HB 1035 Sales and use tax; certain tax exemptions; repeal sunset provisions
Session 2019-20HB 1035, as amended in the Senate Finance Committee, and by Senator John Albers in the Senate Rules Committee, called for a 10% reduction in all preferential tax treatment to any entity of any conveyance. This included a 10% reduction to tax deferrals, tax abatements, tax credits, tax exemptions, tax reductions, etc. The business community unanimously and strongly rebuked the legislation, and the measure was never brought to the Senate floor for a vote.
